App: Scroll the Quran
Developer: Om Tripathi
Platform: iOS
Last updated: October 18, 2026
On your device
Reading position, saved ayahs, private notes, preferences, reading activity, memorization self-assessments, and review schedules are stored on your device. Downloaded Quran passages, reciter clips, and the optional speech model are also stored locally. Removing the app removes this app data, subject to your Apple backup settings.
On-device recitation recognition
The optional Quran speech model is downloaded from Hugging Face only after you choose to download it. The host receives the normal network request needed to deliver the model. Once downloaded, recognition runs on your iPhone without a cloud speech service. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record. Audio and transcripts are not uploaded for speech recognition, advertising, analytics, or model training. Temporary audio files are removed after analysis or cancellation. Recognition can make mistakes and does not assess tajweed or certify pronunciation.
Voice search first creates an editable Arabic transcript on your device. Only when you tap Search does the app send the chosen search text to Quran.com, as it does for typed searches.
Quran content and audio
The app requests chapter/verse information, the English translation, search results, and reciter audio from Quran.com/Quran Foundation services and their content-delivery hosts. These services receive the requested chapter, verse or search term, and normal connection information such as your IP address. Previously cached passages and explicitly downloaded content can be used offline. The ambient instrumental tracks are bundled with the app.
Purchases
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat manages subscription status using an anonymous app user identifier and transaction/subscription information. We do not receive your payment-card details. Subscription availability, prices, trial eligibility and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings.
Optional product analytics
Analytics is off by default. If you enable Optional usage analytics, the app sends limited product events to PostHog US Cloud: onboarding step numbers, offer/plan categories, purchase outcomes, broad feature categories, and app sessions. PostHog also processes a random app identifier and app/device information needed for analytics. This identifier is not linked to a Scroll the Quran account, RevenueCat identifier, or reading content. We do not send Quran text or references, searches, private notes, recordings, transcripts, or memorization results to PostHog. Screen/tap recording, automatic interaction capture, and advertising tracking are disabled. Geolocation enrichment is disabled for app events.
You can enable or disable analytics in You > Usage analytics. Disabling it stops new analytics collection. Events already collected with your permission may be retained under the project’s retention settings; contact us for privacy requests. Data processed by our service providers may be handled in the United States and other countries under their applicable safeguards.
Your choices and contact
You can deny or revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings, delete downloaded content in the app, turn off analytics, and delete local app data by removing the app. No account registration or third-party sign-in is required. We do not sell personal data.
